My Workspace

Wacom Cintiq 21ux, Dell Laptops, Cintiq pens.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Sorry for not posting this sooner been busy with Holiday stuff.  As promised I have posted up some pictures of  my new Cintiq that my brother Lennard got me as an early Birthday present around mid November (my birthday was on the 26th of December).  He also got me the Art pen and Laptop to go with it as well (Ain’t he the best?)  He says that this would be something that can help me get my career started. How nice eh?

Adobe Illustrator CS3, Cintiq Art Pen (left), and Cintiq Grip Pen (right)

I don’t know much about Digital Art ’cause I’m more of a traditional artist but I think this would really help me get me into the art industry.  I’m teaching myself how to use Adobe Illustrator at the moment, got a whole bunch of books at the Library which I think is alot cheaper than going to courses and all.  Apparently with Adobe Illustrator you can make really realistic drawings almost photographic images, which I find really intrigueing. Hopefully soon I can do that. haha.

All furniture from Ikea. haha.

I also bought myself a SmudgeGuard glove to prevent smudges on the tablet (you can see it on the second picture next to the Moleskine). It can also be used while drawing with traditional media as well so you won’t smudge out your drawing.  It’s pretty awesome.  I’m also planning on buying the Corel painter X, heard some good stuff about it, but I’ll probably buy that next time once I get the hang of Adobe Illustrator CS3.  Anyways, if your a Wacom, Cintiq, or Adobe Illustrator user please drop me a comment and maybe give me some good pointers. Thanks!

    Hi Terrilynne,

Thanks so much for the kind comments about my SmudgeGuard! I really appreciate it!
Also…you have a very beautiful workspace! I love your 3 pics! (Especially bcuz it displays the SG!) hee hee ;P

Out of the 3 pics…I really like the second one best because it is the brightest and the most colorful (I guess cuz your monitors are turned on). I just wish the SG wasn’t slightly cut off on that one though. hee hee :P

Hmm.. I was wondering if I can have your permission to post your beautiful workspace pics into one of my website pages? It would really be cool to share your pics with other artists who visit my website. What do you think? :)

Anyhow..again..I love your beautiful workspace! I wish my own workspace would look as great as yours! =)

    My warmest regards…Jeannie Lit

Let me give you a little cintiq tip: Sometimes, you’ll find your windows scrolling for no apparent reason. Here’s the fix – those little touch sliders on the either side? They eventually get just enough dust on ‘em to make your scroll bars go (which is less dust than you can see unaided). Just wipe them off with our finger for an instant fix.

I use mine mostly for Photoshop work – occasionally for illustrator as well, but not nearly as often. I still use the mouse for illustrator

Since you’re a new user, let me recommend “Adobe Classroom in a Book”. This is the book *all* of the teachers use – you can do a chapter or two a day, and really know the application when you’re done.

      Hey Skipernicus!

Sorry for the late reply. Thanks for the tip though! Will definitely do that if my window starts scrolling on its own. haha.

I’ll have to check and see if the library carries “Adobe Classroom in a book”. Thanks!
